Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled
Hardware & Network Engineer with RF expertise (CRE preferred)
to support
end-to-end infrastructure and RFID deployments
across jewellery retail showrooms and warehouses.
This role is critical to ensuring
seamless billing operations, accurate RFID-based inventory tracking (gold/diamond), and reliable network performance
integrated with ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Jewellery Store Infrastructure Deployment
Execute
end-to-end IT infrastructure setup
for jewellery showrooms, including POS systems, billing counters, barcode/RFID devices, and back-office systems.
Validate
store readiness checklist
before ERP go-live (network, hardware, RFID, billing flow).
Ensure proper functioning of
weighing scale integrations, barcode printers, scanners, and billing systems
.
Maintain documentation of
store layouts, device mapping, and connectivity diagrams
.
2. Network Configuration & Multi-Store Connectivity
Configure and manage
LAN/WAN networks
across multiple showroom locations and head office.
Implement
VLAN segmentation
(billing, RFID, admin, guest networks).
Plan and maintain
structured IP addressing schemes
for scalability.
Ensure
high availability and low latency
for real-time ERP transactions (billing, stock updates, gold rate sync).
Troubleshoot issues impacting
live billing or ERP performance
.
3. RF Engineering & Wireless Optimization (Retail Focus)
Conduct
RF site surveys
in showroom environments with glass counters, metal interference (gold displays), and dense layouts.
Optimize
Wi-Fi coverage (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz)
for uninterrupted POS and handheld device usage.
Identify and mitigate
RF interference
caused by metal fixtures, lighting, and electronic devices.
Ensure stable wireless connectivity for
RFID readers, handhelds, and POS systems
.
4. RFID Infrastructure Deployment (Jewellery Use Case)
Deploy and configure
RFID readers, antennas, handheld scanners, and tagging systems
for jewellery items.
Ensure high
read accuracy for tagged items (gold, diamond, silver)
across display and vault areas.
Troubleshoot issues like
missed reads, cross-reads, and antenna calibration errors
.
Support
RFID-based stock audits, cycle counts, and real-time inventory tracking
.
Ensure seamless
integration with ERP for stock synchronization
.
5. Security & Connectivity
Assist in configuring
firewalls and VPN connectivity
for secure communication between stores and head office.
Ensure secure handling of
billing data and financial transactions
.
Support implementation of
basic network security and access controls
.
6. ERP & Implementation Support
Work closely with ERP implementation teams during
store go-live and rollout phases
.
Ensure smooth integration between
hardware, network, RFID, and ERP systems
.
Provide immediate support for issues affecting
billing, stock, or customer transactions
.
7. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain detailed documentation of
network diagrams, RF layouts, RFID setups, and configurations
.
Follow standardized
deployment checklists and SOPs
for jewellery retail environments.
Maintain logs for issues, resolutions, and infrastructure changes.

Required Qualifications & Skills
2–5 years of experience in
networking, hardware deployment, or RF engineering
Strong understanding of
TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with
routers, switches, and wireless access points
Basic to intermediate knowledge of
RF concepts (signal strength, interference, frequency bands)
Experience in
handling POS systems and retail IT infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
Certified RF Engineer (CRE)
or equivalent certification
Experience with
RFID deployments (retail/jewellery/apparel)
Exposure to
multi-store retail environments
Basic firewall knowledge (Fortinet, Sophos, MikroTik, etc.)
Preferred Domain Experience
Jewellery retail operations (gold/diamond inventory handling)
Understanding of
RFID tagging for high-value items
Familiarity with
weight-based billing and stock tracking systems

Education
Diploma / Bachelor’s in
