Job Description: Embedded Technology Lead
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Embedded Technology Lead
to oversee the design, development, and delivery of embedded solutions across firmware, hardware, and testing domains. This role involves leading end-to-end embedded product development, ensuring compliance with CE marking and other international standards. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams in building reliable, innovative, and compliant embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities
·
Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle for embedded products, including
requirements gathering, architecture design, firmware development, hardware design, testing, and validation
.
·
Define and design embedded system architectures, including
microcontrollers, embedded Linux/RTOS platforms, and custom electronics
.
·
Drive and review
firmware development
in C/C++ (or equivalent), ensuring code quality, modularity, and maintainability.
·
Lead
hardware development and PCB design reviews
, ensuring integration with embedded firmware components as well as EMS management.
·
Lead
testing and validation strategies
including test plans & test management, integration testing, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), environmental and compliance testing.
·
Oversee
regulatory compliance and CE marking
, ensuring products meet European directives and other relevant global standards (e.g., EMC, LVD, RoHS, CRA).
·
Partner with product management and stakeholders to
translate customer requirements into robust embedded solutions
.
·
Mentor and guide embedded engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, reviews, and best practices in coding and electronics design.
·
Collaborate with QA, certification labs, and manufacturing teams to ensure
production readiness and compliance documentation (DoC, Technical Files)
.

Identify emerging embedded technologies and drive
innovation and adoption
to maintain a competitive edge.
Required Qualifications
·
Master’s/PhD degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
·
15+ years of professional experience in
embedded systems development
with at least 3 years in a
technical leadership role
.
·
Proven expertise in
firmware development
using C/C++ (RTOS, bare-metal, or embedded Linux).
·
Strong background in
hardware design and development
, including microcontrollers, sensors, communication interfaces (UART, CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, BLE, etc.), and EMS management.
·
Deep understanding of
testing methodologies
for embedded systems (test plans, debugging, test automation, system validation, EMC/IP pre-compliance).
·
Hands-on experience with
CE marking processes
, risk assessments, technical documentation, and regulatory compliance (EMC, LVD, RoHS, RED, CRA as applicable).
·
Familiarity with
tools
: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG debuggers, PCB design/review software (Altium Designer,), and lab test setups.
·
Strong problem-solving mindset and proven ability to
lead cross-functional engineering teams
.
·
Knowledge of
Agile development
and working in collaborative DevOps environments.
Preferred Qualifications
·
Experience with
IoT products
and secure communication protocols (MQTT, TLS, etc.).

Experience managing
third-party labs and certification houses
for compliance testing.
