Embedded Hardware Engineer | RF, Wireless & Low-Power Systems Location: Hyderabad Experience: 4–6 years Job Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Hardware Engineer with deep expertise in low-power electronics , RF design , and embedded hardware systems . This role involves end-to-end hardware development—from schematic and PCB design to prototyping, testing, and production—while working closely with firmware engineers to build optimized, high-performance wireless devices. Key Responsibilities Design and develop low-power, battery-operated embedded hardware systems Lead RF and antenna design for wireless systems including: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Wi-Fi Other RF protocols (as applicable) Design multi-layer PCBs (minimum 4 layers) with focus on: Controlled impedance routing RF layout best practices Signal integrity and noise minimization Antenna matching and tuning Create and maintain: Schematics PCB layouts Bill of Materials (BOM) with cost and availability optimization Rapidly prototype hardware systems integrating: Accelerometers Gyroscopes Microphones Cameras NOR Flash and other memory Additional sensors and peripherals Perform hardware bring-up, validation, and debugging Collaborate closely with firmware engineers to: Optimize power consumption Ensure reliable sensor interfacing and data acquisition Improve wireless performance (range, throughput, stability) Test and validate hardware and firmware performance , including: Power profiling RF performance (range, packet loss, throughput) Signal integrity Generate detailed test reports with actionable insights Develop and maintain mechanical test jigs and fixtures for: Device validation Repeatable testing Data collection setups Coordinate with EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) partners in China for: Prototype builds DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback Production scaling and issue resolution Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience in low-power hardware design for battery-operated devices Proven expertise in RF and antenna design , including: Antenna selection, matching, and tuning RF measurement tools (VNA, spectrum analyzer, etc.) Hands-on experience with 4+ layer PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, OrCAD) Deep understanding of: Controlled impedance and stack-up design EMI/EMC considerations Signal and power integrity Experience in BOM management with cost and supply-chain awareness Strong experience in schematic design and hardware architecture Experience with sensor integration and mixed-signal systems Practical experience in hardware debugging and validation Ability to interpret and collaborate on firmware-hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.) Familiarity with DFM/DFA best practices Preferred Qualifications Experience working on BLE/Wi-Fi-based embedded products Familiarity with Nordic Semiconductor (nRF) platforms or similar SoCs Knowledge of power optimization techniques at both hardware and system levels Basic understanding of firmware workflows and constraints Experience with mechanical design concepts (for test fixtures or enclosures) Exposure to camera interfaces (e.g., MIPI CSI) and audio front-end design Experience with compliance testing (CE, FCC, etc.) Experience in wearable or compact IoT device design Experience in mass production and scaling hardware Soft Skills Strong cross-functional collaboration skills (especially with firmware teams) Detail-oriented with a focus on design robustness and reliability Strong problem-solving and debugging mindset Effective communication and documentation skills Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with firmware engineers to co-design power-efficient systems Ensure hardware supports high-frequency data acquisition and streaming Align on RF performance tuning and BLE/Wi-Fi optimization Enable efficient sensor data pipelines and storage systems Collaborate with Motion Algorithm Engineers to: Optimize algorithms for embedded deployment Ensure real-time performance and efficiency Jointly debug system-level issues across hardware and firmware Key Priority Requirements Expertise in Low power electronics and battery powered devices Expertise in Antenna / RF Design for BLE, WiFi and other wireless systems Expertise in PCB design for 4 layers or more Expertise in rapid prototype development
