Job Summary:
The EHR Specialist is responsible for managing, implementing, and optimizing electronic health record systems to support clinical and administrative operations. This role ensures accurate data entry, system efficiency, compliance with healthcare regulations, and provides support and training to healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the EHR system, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security
Support EHR implementation, upgrades, and system enhancements
Train healthcare staff on EHR usage, workflows, and best practices
Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with IT/vendors for resolution
Customize templates, forms, and workflows based on clinical requirements
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA or local equivalents)
Generate reports and analyze data for clinical and operational decision-making
Assist in data migration, audits, and quality assurance activities
Collaborate with clinicians, administrators, and IT teams
Required Qualifications:
Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical documentation
Proficiency in EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar)
Basic knowledge of databases, data analysis, and reporting tools
