Leading the architectural vision and technical strategy for Verizon's Agentic AI ecosystem, defining standards and best practices that scale across the enterprise. Designing and building multi-agent frameworks and orchestration layers that enable autonomous, goal-driven systems to operate reliably in production environments. Driving the adoption of Large Language Models (LLMs), reasoning engines, and tool-use patterns within complex, distributed AI pipelines. Collaborating with product, platform, and data engineering teams to translate business problems into agentic solutions that deliver measurable outcomes. Evaluating and integrating emerging AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Assistants) and establishing internal tooling standards. Building guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and observability tooling to ensure agent reliability, safety, and alignment with business intent. Mentoring and elevating senior and staff engineers across teams, establishing a community of practice around agentic AI development. Publishing internal technical papers, leading architecture reviews, and representing Verizon's engineering capabilities at external industry forums and conferences. Partnering with security, legal, and compliance stakeholders to ensure responsible AI deployment across all agentic systems. What we're looking for... You are a technologist who thinks in systems. You don't just build agents — you architect the ecosystems they operate in. You are deeply curious about the frontier of AI capabilities, translating cutting-edge research into pragmatic, production-grade solutions. You thrive at the intersection of deep technical expertise and organizational influence, and you can communicate complex AI concepts to both engineers and executives with equal clarity. You hold yourself and others to a high bar and are energized by hard, ambiguous problems. You'll need to have: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training. Hands-on experience designing and deploying large-scale machine learning or AI systems in production. Deep understanding of LLM architecture, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and tool/function-calling patterns. Experience building or operating multi-agent or agentic AI systems end-to-end. Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern ML/AI stacks (PyTorch, Hugging Face, vector databases, etc.). Even better if you have one or more of the following: Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Anthropic's Agent SDK, or Google's agentic stack including Vertex AI Agent Builder, Google Agent Development Kit (ADK), Vertex AI Reasoning Engine, Google Agentspace, or the Agent-to-Agent (A2A) interoperability protocol. Familiarity with model fine-tuning, RLHF, or model evaluation methodologies. Background in distributed systems, MLOps, or AI infrastructure at hyperscale. Experience integrating agentic systems with enterprise APIs, knowledge graphs, or real-time data streams. Published research or open-source contributions in the AI/ML space. Experience working in telecommunications, network automation, or related industries. Prior Distinguished Engineer, Fellow, or Principal Architect-level role at a large technology organization. Track record of influencing technical direction across multiple teams or business units.
