Role Overview
The
Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) – PMO
will support the Project Management Office in planning, coordination, and monitoring of signalling & telecom projects for Indian Railways. This is an entry-level role designed for fresh graduates to gain exposure to
project planning, reporting, and coordination
in a structured corporate environment, ensuring projects are tracked effectively in terms of timelines, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Monitoring Support
Assist in project scheduling and tracking using MS Excel / MS Project / Primavera
Support monitoring of project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Help track progress against planned schedules
2. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports (MIS)
Maintain organized project documentation, records, and dashboards
Support preparation of presentations and status reports
3. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with internal teams (design, procurement, and site teams) for data collection
Follow up on project updates and ensure timely information flow
Assist in communication between departments
4. Commercial & Data Support
Assist in BOQ tracking, billing support, and basic data validation
Support material tracking and reconciliation from reports
Help in maintaining project trackers and databases
5. Risk & Compliance Support
Assist in identifying project risks and maintaining risk logs
Support adherence to Indian Railways standards and safety requirements
Ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance
6. Data Analysis & Performance Tracking
Assist in analyzing project data and generating insights
Support preparation of performance dashboards and reports
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification:
ITI/Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in ECE, EEE, or related fields
Year of Passing:
Final Year Students / Recent Graduates
Experience:
0–1 year (Freshers preferred)
Required Skills
Basic understanding of Railway S&T systems (Signalling, Telecom, OFC – preferred)
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office tools
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and coordination abilities
Ability to work in a structured corporate environment
