Role Summary
Gamlaa Bioscapes is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional for the role of
Design Planning & Estimation – Hardscape
. The incumbent will be responsible for translating design concepts into technically sound hardscape plans, accurate quantity take-offs, and cost estimates for landscape and bioscape projects. The role requires strong coordination between design, procurement, and execution teams to ensure feasibility, cost efficiency, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design Planning
Prepare and review detailed hardscape drawings including pavements, decks, retaining walls, pergolas, boundary elements, water features, and outdoor structures.
Interpret landscape concepts and convert them into construction-ready drawings and specifications.
Integrate MEP requirements (lighting, irrigation sleeves, drainage, water supply, electrical conduits) within hardscape layouts.
Coordinate with landscape designers, architects, and MEP consultants to ensure design feasibility and constructability.
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, safety norms, and best engineering practices.
Estimation & Costing
Prepare detailed BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates for hardscape works.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate project budgets.
Evaluate material specifications and propose value engineering options without compromising design intent or quality.
Assist in vendor rate analysis, benchmarking, and cost comparisons.
Support tendering and contract documentation processes.
Technical Coordination & Execution Support
Provide technical support to project and site teams during execution.
Resolve design and execution-related queries, clashes, and constructability issues.
Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure seamless on-site integration of services within hardscape works.
Conduct site visits as required to validate measurements, assess feasibility, and support progress.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate design, estimation, and revision records.
Prepare technical reports, cost summaries, and presentation material for internal and client reviews.
Support post-project cost analysis and learning documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering (Essential)
Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
MEP exposure or hands-on experience in building or landscape-related projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); working knowledge of Excel and estimation tools.
Knowledge of 3D tools, BIM, or project management software is an added advantage.
Certifications (Desirable):
Microsoft Excel – Advanced (2025)
Microsoft Power BI – Advanced (2025)
Core Competencies:
Strong understanding of hardscape construction methods, materials, and detailing.
Proficiency in quantity take-offs, estimation, and BOQ preparation.
Sound knowledge of MEP coordination (electrical, plumbing, drainage, irrigation) within landscape and hardscape projects.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, landscape, structural, and MEP drawings.
Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and coordination abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
