About this role

Landor is looking for a Design Director (FMCG Focused) to join our Mumbai Studio. Could this be you? We are Landor. Role Overview: The Design Director highly creative and technically skilled but also outspoken and confident, able to assert their ideas, ask critical questions, and engage with clients and teams collaboratively and proactively. The role demands someone who isn't afraid to challenge a brief or probe deeper into the goals of a project, ensuring the final design truly aligns with both the brand's vision and the consumer's needs. Proficiency in Photoshop will be particularly critical for this role, as the ability to create detailed mock-ups, refine packaging elements, and produce high- quality visuals quickly is essential. This Design Director must also be comfortable presenting and discussing concepts across borders, and navigating cultural differences while maintaining clarity and confidence in their communication. What you'll do: • Provide creative leadership by leading design teams and creative projects. Guide and direct to deliver the very best strategy and design for our clients. • Work with Creative Directors and fellow Design Directors to establish future creative vision. • Evaluate design options, providing constructive critique to develop and push to find ‘big ideas’ based on design strategy and creative brief. • Promote and develop creative thinking, coaching and nurturing junior team members. • Evaluate and develop competitive and breakthrough design strategies and plans. • Partner and interact with internal teams and clients to deliver transformative, creative work and ensure client satisfaction on all projects. What you'll need: • Previous experience in a similar role within a branding/design agency leading cross-discipline teams. • The ability to demonstrate creative impact and skills to manage the complete delivery of projects • Outstanding technical skills with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat) . • Excellent and current creative and design trend knowledge and skills. • An ability to build strong working relationships, internally and externally. • A solutions-driven outlook, fuelled by curiosity and an innovative mind.
