Copart, Inc. a technology leader and the premier online vehicle auction platform globally, with over 200 facilities located across the world, Copart links vehicle sellers to more than 750,000 buyers in over 190 countries.  We believe in providing an unmatched experience, every day and everywhere, driven by our people, processes, and technology.  Responsibilities will include:   Ensure integrity, high   availability,   and   optimum   performance of Production database systems by providing technical support and maintenance.   Proactively   monitor   and improve database and system performance.   Oversee database backup   strategy   and recovery procedures.   Install periodic software patches and new product releases.   Implement and oversee database security   strategy   and best practices.   Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of multiple global databases.   Monitor databases regularly to check for problems such as locking issues and failed queries.   Assist   team with troubleshooting critical issues, implementing   new ideas   and solutions.   Assist Development teams with application performance load testing, capacity planning, space   management   and data maintenance activities for database   system .   Handle daily Database deployments, Infrastructure   changes   and modifications in conjunction with   change   management team.   Assist Developers with Database requirements, recommendations & design reviews.   Coordinate problem resolution with Microsoft support as needed.     Preferred Skills:   Six   plus years of   hands-on   experience as a database administrator.   Five plus years of experience working with SQL Server 2016   or 2019 .   Five years of experience with Windows Server administration,   tuning   and troubleshooting   Two plus years of experience with MariaDB / MySQL Database systems and replication solutions would be a plus.   One   year   experience working with PostgreSQL databases would be a plus.   Have a detailed understanding of SQL Server internals such as memory management, locking mechanism, job scheduler, maintenance plans, etc.,   Three plus years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server HA / DR solutions such as Always-On, Replication, Clustering, log shipping, etc.,   Three plus years of experience with SQL Server backup/restore, schedulers,   etc   Expertise   in database object design including tables, indexes, views, triggers, stored procedures, functions,   events   and other user-defined objects.   Experience in performing database performance tuning and optimization tasks with DB, such as query rewrite, creation of   indexes   or system tuning.   Experience working with database features and tools such as partitioning, compression, constraints, admin views, event monitors, data encryption, etc.,   Experience working on Linux operating   system .   Good experience   working with scripting, like SQL Scripting, PowerShell scripting, Python, etc.,   Strong presentation and interpersonal skills .   Able to prioritize and execute tasks and projects in a fast paced and   mission critical   environment.   Strong desire   to learn   new technologies   and other database platforms.   Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.   Critical thinker and problem-solving skills   Microsoft certification a plus     NA
