About the Team :
The FIS Client Office AI team focuses on applying practical, responsible AI to improve how clients and client‑facing teams experience our products and services. We work at the intersection of business, technology, and data—partnering closely with product, engineering, and client teams to build AI‑driven capabilities that enhance insight, efficiency, and decision‑making across the client lifecycle. Our work spans applied machine learning, generative AI, and intelligent automation, with a strong emphasis on real‑world impact, scalable platforms, and ethical AI practices. What you will be doing:
The role is responsible for cloud‑native data architecture, data governance, security, and regulatory compliance, while supporting AI/ML workloads at scale.
Design and implement the data architecture for an enterprise AI Platform, supporting structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data
Select and implement appropriate cloud database and data storage technologies (relational, NoSQL, analytical, vector, object storage)
Build databases and data services to support AI/ML model training, inference, evaluation, and observability
Define data access patterns and performance strategies aligned to AI use cases
Implement and manage databases on public cloud platforms (Mainly Azure; Optional AWS or GCP)
Optimize for scalability, availability, cost, and performance in cloud environments
Work closely with platform, MLOps, and DevOps teams to enable automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code for data components
Design and support data integration between the AI Platform and existing FinTech products, including mainframes, core banking systems, and legacy databases
Enable secure and reliable data ingestion, synchronization, and replication
Handle data transformation, reconciliation, and lineage across modern and legacy systems
Define and implement data governance frameworks covering:
Data quality and validation
Metadata management and lineage
Data classification and ownership
Retention, archival, and purge policies
Implement access controls, encryption, masking, and auditing aligned with regulatory requirements (financial services, privacy, and security standards)
Partner with risk, compliance, and security teams to ensure platform readiness for audits
Own database reliability including backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery
Proactively monitor and tune database performance
Define SLAs, SLOs, and operational runbooks for critical data services
Support incident resolution and root‑cause analysis
Work closely with AI engineers, architects, product owners, and security teams
Provide technical guidance on data design and best practices
Review designs and mentor other DBAs or engineers as the platform scales
What you bring:
10 to 15 years of experience in database architecture or senior DBA roles
Proven experience owning end‑to‑end database lifecycle (design → build → operate)
Strong background in enterprise or FinTech environments
Strong expertise in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
Experience with NoSQL and analytical databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift)
Exposure to vector databases or feature stores is a plus
Hands‑on experience with cloud‑managed data services (Mainly Azure; Optional AWS or GCP)
Understanding of containerized and distributed systems
Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation)
Experience implementing data governance, privacy, and security controls
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance needs in financial services
Practical experience with encryption, access management, and auditing
