Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA with strong expertise in database monitoring, performance tuning, physical design, security, and configuration management, along with hands-on experience in migrations and specialized DBMS platforms
Required Skills:
Database monitoring and maintenance: ability to manage and maintain monitoring tools, backup software, and management agents to ensure system performance, data integrity, and availability
SQL Server architecture: understanding of memory management, IO subsystems, backup and restore mechanisms, and high availability options
Database physical design: table design, data types selection, index design, columnstore index internals, stored procedures, functions, and table partitioning with partition management
Locking mechanisms: understanding of SQL Server locking and concurrency control
Query performance tuning: proficiency with Extended Events, query execution plan analysis, and Query Store for identifying and resolving performance issues
SQL Server security configuration: management of users and logins, audit implementation, certificates management, and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
SQL Server configuration management: knowledge of available configuration options and their implications
Experience with migration activities from other RDBMS platforms such as Oracle, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL
Experience with Clickhouse or other specialized DBMS
Data Platform Engineer Skills:
Python or PowerShell for automation and scripting tasks
Familiarity with Prometheus and Grafana stack for MSSQL monitoring
OpenShift/Kubernetes container orchestration and Helm chart management
Git version control and CI/CD pipeline implementation
SaltStack or other desired state configuration management software
Experience with testing frameworks
Understanding of Windows OS internals
