Key Responsibilities:
Generate, evaluate, and implement cost reduction and value engineering (VAVE) ideas across various engine products and applications.
Capture technical requirements from component/idea owners and perform detailed investigations and evaluations.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction during design stages and value addition during evaluations.
Develop efficient concept designs based on received inputs using CAD tools (Creo).
Perform design feasibility checks to support VAVE initiatives.
Provide solutions to design related problems coming from engine assembly and find opportunities to reduce cost during new design.
Deliver assigned tasks in line with project timelines and commitments.
Prepare business cases and cost proposals and submit them for approval through DTM.
Collaborate with cross-functional and multi-location stakeholders.
Drive component-level and sub-system-level design, material, and manufacturing optimizations to reduce overall product cost.
Skills and Experience Required:
Qualifications: BE / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering Associated Branches
Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in engine component design & detailing.
Exposure to VAVE, NPD, APQP, GD&T, PPAP and Tolerance stack up.
Knowledge of diesel engines and their component level function is a must.
Manufacturing process knowledge for Casting, Forging and Sheetmetal Components.
Good drawing reading skill & understanding about change management process.
Good Problem-solving skills and should have solution-oriented approach.
High efficiency in Creo CAD tool for concept design creation.
Experience in PLM Software- Windchill.
Hands-on experience in using JIRA tool would be an advantage.
Working experience with German counterparts would be advantage.
