Key Responsibilities :
Obtain inputs from cross functional team, collaborates and consults with senior level designers to ensure holistic development and assessment of design concepts.
Lead concept generation, concept selection, optimization, detailed design, to deliver product at design phase.
Responsible for creating optimized mechanical design concepts and detailed specifications by applying engineering principles while considering application requirements, cost, weight, performance, DFM, DFA & DFS.
Translate specifications to 3D solid models along with bill of material.
Create Pugh Matrix and Cause and Effect (C&E) Matrix as applicable and present in cross functional reviews to facilitate decision making.
Supplier interactions as required for any manufacturing queries etc. including participating in Drawing Quality Review.
Effectively communicates the capability of the design to meet cross functional requirements.
Collaborates effectively across cross-functional teams throughout the product develop phase.
Support cross functional design review.
Product Problem solving – Participate in finding root cause of failure. Supporting investigations using tools. (DVA, 7-step problem solving)
Skills and Experience Requirements:
Qualification - B.E. Mechanical or Associated Branches
Experience Range - 3 to 5 Years
In depth knowledge of mechanical system design. (Engine & Genset)
Strong fundamentals of casting & sheet metal components design & manufacturing.
Good understanding of design tools - DFMEA, stack up calculations / Dimensional Variation Analysis & GD&T.
Basic understanding of Modal / structural / thermal / Flow analysis to interpret results and if required iterate the design to improve margins.
Experience on Creo cabling will be an added advantage.
Hands on experience with Ansys Workbench / Discovery will be an added advantage.
CAD Proficiency: Pro/E – Creo.
Expected Skill Level – Intermediate to Expert.
