Role Summary:
The role is responsible for designing and optimizing field force structures to maximize market coverage, customer engagement, and commercial impact. It combines strategic planning with advanced analytics to recommend the right size, structure, and territory alignment for field teams across geographies and therapeutic areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead field force
sizing and structuring exercises
, balancing market opportunity, workload, and resource constraints.
Design and implement
territory alignment models
that ensure equitable workload, geographic efficiency, and customer coverage.
Collaborate with segmentation and target teams to incorporate
customer potential, prescribing behavior, and engagement needs
into design decisions.
Conduct
scenario planning and simulations
to evaluate alternative deployment strategies and their cost–benefit implications.
Partner with client commercial leaders to align
role archetypes
(e.g., KAMs, MRs, hybrid reps, digital reps, MSLs) and optimize channel/resource mix.
Support
Incentive Compensation (IC) design linkage
by ensuring alignment between territory structures, sales goals, and IC metrics.
Integrate
omnichannel considerations
into field design (digital-first, hybrid engagement, virtual territories).
Work with analytics and technology teams to ensure models are
implemented in CRM/territory alignment platforms
(e.g., Veeva Align, Javelin, SalesIQ).
Prepare
clear narratives, maps, and dashboards
for senior stakeholders to drive buy-in and implementation.
Monitor and refine deployment strategies post-implementation, ensuring
continuous optimization
based on market changes.
What You Bring:
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative field
Experience:
4+ years of experience in commercial or FFO analytics in the pharmaceutical/healthcare space
Technical Skills:
Experience with
territory alignment and sizing tools
(e.g., Veeva Align, Javelin, Axtria SalesIQ, custom GIS).
Basic SQL or Alteryx knowledge for querying, validation, and summarization of CRM/Rx datasets
Excel and PowerPoint expertise
Excellent communication skills for presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
Domain Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of
FFO principles and commercial deployment models
across global markets
Strong proficiency in
Sizing
and
Territory Design
methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with
scenario modelling & optimization
.
Prior consulting or pharma experience in
Commercial Operations / Field Force Effectiveness / SFE / FFO
preferred.
