Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Civil Lead to manage and oversee all civil engineering and construction activities for Solar EPC projects across Gujarat and nearby regions. The role involves planning, execution, supervision, and quality control of civil works to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
The ideal candidate will lead site teams, coordinate with cross-functional departments, and ensure that all civil activities are executed in compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Civil Construction Management
Lead and manage all civil works including site grading, land development, excavation, foundations, trenches, internal roads, drainage systems, and equipment foundations.
Ensure execution of works as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Supervise contractors and site teams to maintain productivity and quality standards.
2. Planning & Execution
Develop detailed execution plans and schedules for civil activities in coordination with the project planning team.
Monitor daily progress and ensure adherence to timelines and milestones.
Identify potential delays and implement corrective measures.
3. Resource & Contractor Management
Manage manpower, equipment, and materials required for civil works.
Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure timely mobilization and execution.
Evaluate contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
4. Quality Control & Assurance
Ensure all civil works meet quality standards and comply with QA/QC procedures.
Coordinate with the Quality team for inspections, testing, and documentation.
Ensure closure of non-conformities and adherence to Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Ensure strict compliance with safety policies and site-specific HSE plans.
Promote a safe working environment and enforce use of PPE.
Coordinate with the QHSE team to address safety observations and incidents.
6. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with engineering, electrical, procurement, and project management teams.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and local authorities for smooth execution.
Participate in project review meetings and provide updates on civil progress.
7. Billing & Measurement
Verify quantities executed and support preparation of RA bills.
Ensure accurate measurement of work and certification of contractor bills.
Coordinate with billing/commercial teams for timely invoicing.
8. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain site records including daily progress reports, material consumption, and work logs.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management.
Ensure proper documentation of drawings, approvals, and changes.
9. Risk Management & Problem Solving
Identify project risks related to civil works and implement mitigation strategies.
Resolve technical and site-related issues efficiently.
Ensure minimal rework and optimal resource utilization.
10. Continuous Improvement
Implement best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and cost control.
Drive productivity improvements and standardization across projects.
Support innovation in construction methodologies and materials.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
6–12 years of experience in civil construction, preferably in Solar EPC, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of civil construction methods, drawings, BOQ, and project execution.
