The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of attending college, or building a career are significantly lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach was born in 2015 to challenge this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children.

Responsibilities
The iTeach College to Career Team aims to have all our alumni make it to and through college and get their first sustainable job aligned with their personal vision. This is their first step in pulling themselves and their families out of poverty. We do this work through four centres: Admissions and Scholarships, Near-peer Mentoring, Lifeguarding, and the Career Centre.
With only 10% of Indian students making it through college—fewer from under-resourced backgrounds—many face pressure to work early, marry, or drop out. C2C exists to change this, offering academic, financial, and social support to help go
to and through college
, and into meaningful employment.
Forbes Marshall, our long-time partner and supporter, has been doing incredible work with the girls in the Khed area to ensure they get into meaningful careers of their choice, support their family, and make independent life choices. Starting 2025-26, iTeach C2C has collaborated with FM to be a knowledge and implementation partner for this project.

The role has three key parts:
Mentoring
around 150 Grade 8 to 12 students,
sourcing opportunities and counselling
for their internships and skill development through strong partnerships, and
training
the students on relevant skills.
Mentoring students:
Ensuring students have 100% attendance in school/college.
Ensuring they are committed to finishing school/college.
Enabling them to overcome all challenges towards finishing their education.
Working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that students are finishing their education.
Working with at-risk students and resolving their highly difficult issues so as to continue their education.
Sourcing Opportunities and Counselling students:
Sourcing work opportunities - internships, skill development etc, from the Khed and surrounding areas for students to work.
Counseling students to recognize their interests, strengths, and take opportunities accordingly.
Maintaining partnerships with opportunity providers.
Training students:
Planning and facilitating skill-building sessions.
Planning and facilitating engagement and community-building sessions.
Prerequisites
Graduate in any field with strong results and projects.
Experience working with youth from low-income households in the age group of 14-20 years.
Strong ability to build partnerships and invest in stakeholders.
Preferred: experience with project management.
Requirements
Required: Flexibility to travel across Khed (Rajguru Nagar ) & Pune for visiting schools, colleges, companies, and partners.
Required: Working on Saturdays and Sundays and taking a weekly off during the week, as most alumni can be met over the weekend.
Must have my own bike & license.
Demonstrates immense belief in the power that young people have and that all young people need contextual support.
