Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled
Cloud Engineer
with strong expertise in AWS to design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud architecture, automation, security, and production support, along with the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud-based solutions across compute, storage, networking, security, and database services.
Implement and automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of applications, including database management (RDS – MySQL/Aurora).
Monitor system health, performance, and uptime, ensuring minimal or zero downtime.
Implement robust security practices and proactively mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and streamline deployment processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, performance, and security-related issues in production environments.
Optimize AWS cost and billing through efficient resource utilization and best practices.
Plan and execute disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity strategies.
Maintain clear documentation for architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for critical incidents.
Continuously evaluate new AWS services and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure.
Key Skills & Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, ALB, CloudFront, RDS (MySQL/Aurora), S3, VPC, IAM
Proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu/CentOS)
Experience with web servers: Apache, Nginx
Strong understanding of PHP-based applications and performance tuning
Database expertise in MySQL (performance tuning, replication, backups)
Familiarity with caching systems: Redis, Memcached
Solid understanding of networking concepts: DNS, CDN, Load Balancing, SSL/TLS
Experience with monitoring tools: CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
Knowledge of automation tools: Terraform or AWS CloudFormationScripting skills in Bash and/or Python
Experience managing high-traffic production environments
Strong understanding of autoscaling, failover, and high-availability architectures
Experience in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis (RCA)
Knowledge of cron jobs, background processes, and system scheduling
Experience in domain, DNS, and SSL certificate management
Understanding of AWS cost optimization techniques (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, rightsizing)
Exposure to containerization tools (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes) is a plus
Ability to work in a 24x7 support/on-call environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus
