ERM is seeking an Cloud DevOps Lead
to join our regional HR team that supports the EMEA business.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Cloud DevOps Lead to join our Technology team at a leading services organisation with a strong focus on sustainability and positive impact., you will play a key role in translating enterprise architecture and technology strategy into secure, scalable, and automated cloud delivery capabilities.
In this role, you will work closely with the Enterprise Architect, business leaders, and technology teams to design, implement, and continuously improve DevOps platforms and practices across Azure and AWS. You will ensure cloud delivery aligns with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and target-state designs, enabling consistent, reliable, and efficient delivery of technology initiatives.
The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. You will provide technical leadership across CI/CD, automation, and cloud platforms, embed security and governance into delivery pipelines, and support teams in adopting modern DevOps and cloud-native ways of working while maintaining alignment with enterprise strategy.
What You’ll be Responsible for:
Leading a high performance and cross functional team that conforms to standards and collaborates with the Architecture teams.
Mentoring and guiding the DevOps team with a hands on approach and structured feedback
Creating the capability to drive continuous improvements and a DevOps culture.
Taking ownership and accountability for reliable delivery and operational KPI’s
Lead the design, implementation, and operation of DevOps practices across Azure and AWS cloud platforms
Implementing a repetitive and predictable service catalogue for infrastructure by adopting infrastructure as Code.
Take hands-on ownership of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud delivery tooling
Define and enforce DevOps standards, patterns, and best practices across multiple teams and environments
Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, and CloudFormation
Collaborate closely with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to enable scalable and reliable cloud delivery
Embed security, compliance, and governance controls into pipelines and cloud platforms (DevSecOps)
Championing the cloud first approach to handling all workloads and have demonstrated the prowess for implementing automation workloads and frameworks within the public cloud space (Azure, AWS)
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure reliability, performance, and operational visibility
Troubleshoot complex cloud, build, and deployment issues across Azure and AWS environments
Mentor and uplift engineering teams through hands-on guidance, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
Encouraging innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, and self-organization.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience leading DevOps or platform engineering initiatives in enterprise cloud environments
Strong hands-on experience with both Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Deep experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS-native services
Practical experience with Terraform and multi-cloud Infrastructure as Code strategies
Experience operating in environments with strong governance, security, or regulatory requirements
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes platforms (AKS and/or EKS) in production
Demonstrated implementation capabilities within the public cloud environments with infrastructure as code for blueprints and templates
Experience implementing DevSecOps practices including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and policy enforcement
Source Code repository knowledge in Git/Stash and reviewing source code, including code management, and branching strategy.
Advanced knowledge in Virtual WAN in Cloud (Azure), Express Route and virtual network technology
Advanced knowledge in the security suites within public cloud and have demonstrated the deployment of the required services.
Cloud certifications (e.g. AZ-400, AZ-305, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong in scripting languages (e.g. powershell, yaml) not only for infrastructure but application based workloads.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
12+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering roles
8+ years in deploying and/or onboarding private/hybrid/public cloud solutions leveraging technologies like Open stack., Chef, Ansible, Terraform and Jenkins
Strong working knowledge of Azure and AWS core services and architectures
Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python
Solid understanding of Git-based source control and modern branching strategies
Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines for production, business-critical systems
Strong understanding of cloud security, identity, and networking fundamentals
