Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented
Server/Azure Specialist
with mid-to high level expertise to support and maintain our on-premises servers and Microsoft Azure cloud environments. The role will focus on day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and supporting ongoing cloud and server initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.
Additionally support performing the monthly/quarterly/yearly SOX reviews to agreed standards.
What do we need:
Perform routine administration of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Monitor server health, applying updates, patches, and resolving issues as needed.
Support basic virtualization tasks using Hyper-V or VMware.
Assist in the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of Azure resources, such as Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, and Virtual Networks.
Manage user accounts and permissions in Azure Active Directory.
Perform basic troubleshooting of Azure services and escalate complex issues.
Support hybrid cloud configurations, ensuring synchronization between on-premises systems and Azure.
Perform data migrations under supervision and monitor cloud workloads.
Monitor and ensure the success of scheduled backups for both on-premises and cloud systems.
Identify and report potential security risks.
Provide Level 2 support for server and cloud-related issues, escalating to senior staff when required.
Assist in troubleshooting connectivity issues and performance bottlenecks.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, changes, and standard procedures.
Update ticketing systems with resolution details and progress reports.
Perform the monthly/quarterly/yearly SOX reviews to agreed standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
Bachelors Degree in related field
Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Administrator Associate (preferred but not mandatory).
Basic Windows Server certifications (e.g., MTA, MCP).
Experience:
4-6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with exposure to both Windows Server and Azure environments. Esxi, Vsphere, Vmware licensing knowledge and experience is required.
Hands-on experience with basic server administration tasks.
Familiarity with Azure services and administration tools.
Experience with patching Dev/prod servers protocols
Skills:
Basic troubleshooting of server and cloud-related issues.
Familiarity with PowerShell for scripting and automation.
Understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, DHCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with backup solutions, such as Azure Backup and Veeam.
Basic knowledge of monitoring tools like Azure Monitor or System Center.
Exposure to automation tools like ARM templates or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
