About this role Business Overview   The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock’s fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA advances the firm’s risk management practices and strengthens business and investment outcomes through deep risk   expertise , data-driven insights, and constructive   challenges .    We are   seeking   a highly organized, analytically strong, and execution-oriented Business Manager & Chief of Staff to support the Head of BlackRock Gurgaon office and the Head of RQA in India. This individual will help drive the operating rhythm, strategic priorities, and day-to-day business management of RQA India while partnering closely with the wider COO and business management infrastructure across BlackRock.     This role sits at the intersection of strategy, governance, talent, communications, finance, and execution. It requires someone who can move seamlessly between leadership presentations, budgeting and reporting, hiring and headcount planning, leadership meeting coordination, event execution, and ad hoc strategic initiatives. This is a high-visibility role with significant exposure to senior leadership across RQA, India leadership, Finance, HR, Recruiting, Communications, Workplace Experience, and partner functions.     What you will be doing   Act as a strategic partner to the Head of BlackRock Gurgaon office and the Head of RQA in India on priorities, operating cadence, decision support, and follow-through on strategic initiatives.    Help shape and manage the RQA India business agenda, including annual   objectives , business reviews, leadership offsites, town halls, site initiatives, and cross-functional coordination.    Own the management cadence for RQA India leadership meetings, governance forums, committee updates, and working groups; prepare agendas, presentations, briefing notes, minutes, and action tracking.    Develop high-quality PowerPoint presentations, talking points, dashboards, and written materials for leadership meetings, internal communications, business reviews, site leadership forums, and global stakeholder engagements.    Support headcount and hiring management for RQA India, including workforce planning, requisition tracking, hiring approvals, onboarding coordination, and reporting on recruiting progress.    Coordinate with global and India COO / business management teams to ensure alignment on management reporting, governance, business controls, approvals, policies, and operational initiatives.    Drive execution of site-level and industry-facing initiatives for BlackRock India, the Gurgaon office, and RQA India, including leadership visits, employee engagement activities, functional events, industry engagements, offsites, and internal forums.    Manage end-to-end event execution for relevant RQA India and Gurgaon office activities, including planning, stakeholder coordination, communications, budget oversight,   logistics , post-event follow-up, and lessons learned.    Support people and culture priorities across RQA India, including onboarding, team engagement, recognition, learning events, and connectivity with the wider India platform.    Lead or support special projects focused on process improvement, standardization, automation, and operational scale.    Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information and senior leadership matters.      What we are looking for   6-10 years of relevant experience in business management, chief of staff, COO, strategy, finance / FP&A, operations, or related roles within asset management, financial services, banking, consulting, or   another   complex matrixed organization.    Bachelor’s degree   required ; MBA or other postgraduate qualification preferred.    Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in budget management, forecasting, headcount planning, business reviews, and management reporting.    Advanced Excel skills, including building models, dashboards, scenario analyses, pivot tables, and working with large datasets; Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, or Tableau   experience   is a plus.    Highly adept with PowerPoint, with the ability to create polished senior-management presentations, distill complex topics into clear narratives, and present data in a concise and compelling format.    Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, influence across levels, and tailor messages to different stakeholders.    Strong presentation and storytelling skills; comfortable preparing leaders for meetings and, where   appropriate , presenting directly to senior stakeholders.    Proven ability to coordinate complex workstreams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.    Strong project management and organizational skills with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.    Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across senior leadership and partner functions, including Finance, HR, Recruiting, Workplace Experience, Communications, and Technology / Operations.    Experience planning and executing events, offsites, leadership meetings, or industry engagements end-to-end.    High degree of ownership, judgment, professionalism, and discretion.    Comfortable working with ambiguity, bringing structure to open-ended problems, and driving execution without extensive oversight.    Self-starter with energy, resilience, and a positive approach to business challenges; someone who   demonstrates   emotional ownership and a One BlackRock mindset.      Preferred experience   Experience supporting a senior executive, business head, COO team, or country / site leader in a chief of staff or business manager capacity.    Prior   exposure to risk management, quantitative businesses, enterprise risk, control, governance, or related functions.    Familiarity with recruiting, workflow, procurement, and reporting tools such as Workday, Coupa, ServiceNow, Jira, Excel-based trackers, or similar platforms.    Experience creating operating dashboards and management packs for global leadership.    Exposure to   vendor management, third-party oversight, or expense approval processes.    Experience in India site leadership, location strategy, employee engagement, or workplace and campus initiatives is beneficial.      Why this role matters   This role will help build scale, connectivity, and execution discipline across RQA India while strengthening the link between local priorities, global RQA leadership, and BlackRock’s broader COO and India operating model.
