Role Objective
Nexen Power is seeking a high-impact
Business Development
with a strong
sales and business development background in the renewable energy sector
. The role will be responsible for driving
Pan-India C&I and IPP business growth
, managing bidding opportunities, acquiring new customers, and building a robust project pipeline across Solar, Wind, Hybrid, and BESS solutions.
The incumbent will lead end-to-end sales cycles including
tender participation, competitive bidding, customer acquisition, and deal closure
while ensuring commercially viable and scalable renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Business Development (Pan India)
Drive Pan-India business development for renewable energy solutions across C&I and other segments
Identify and develop new customers for Open Access, Captive, Group Captive, and IPP opportunities
Build and maintain strong sales pipeline across target industries and geographies
Lead end-to-end sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure
Conduct customer meetings, technical-commercial discussions, and proposal presentations
Develop strategic market entry plans for new geographies and customer segments
Build long-term relationships with key corporate and industrial customers
B. Bidding & Tender Management
Identify and evaluate bidding opportunities from utilities, SECI, state nodal agencies, and large C&I customers
Lead end-to-end bid management including EOI, RFQ, RFP, and tender submissions
Coordinate with internal teams for technical inputs, pricing, and commercial structuring
Prepare bid strategy, tariff modelling, and competitive positioning
Review tender documents, contractual obligations, and risk parameters
Manage bid documentation, bank guarantees, and submission timelines
Participate in reverse auctions and competitive bidding processes
Track bid outcomes and maintain bidding pipeline
C. Commercial Structuring & Deal Closure
Lead structuring and negotiation of PPAs with C&I customers and utilities
Develop customized commercial proposals aligned to customer energy requirements
Work with finance teams on pricing models and project viability
Support contract negotiations and closure of long-term energy supply agreements
Evaluate project feasibility including demand profile, tariff competitiveness, and risks
Coordinate with legal and internal stakeholders for agreement finalization
D. Market Expansion & Strategic Growth
Identify strategic partnerships with developers, EPC players, consultants, and channel partners
Track market trends, competitor strategies, and pricing benchmarks
Drive growth in Open Access, Captive, Group Captive, and Third-Party Sale models
Build strong network across industrial clusters and corporate customers
Contribute to annual sales strategy and business planning
E. Project Commercial Management
Support project handover from sales to execution teams
Coordinate with internal teams for customer onboarding and documentation
Track project milestones linked to commercial commitments
Support billing, energy reconciliation, and customer relationship management
Ensure timely revenue realization and customer satisfaction

Competencies & Skills
Strong sales orientation with proven track record in renewable energy
Experience in competitive bidding and tender participation
Deep understanding of Open Access, Captive & Group Captive models
Strong negotiation and commercial structuring capability
Pan-India market exposure in C&I renewable sales
Excellent stakeholder and client relationship management
Strong analytical and bid strategy capability
Ability to manage multiple bids and sales opportunities simultaneously
Excellent presentation and influencing skills
Willingness to travel extensively across India
Understanding of Solar, Wind, Hybrid and BESS solutions

Qualification & Experience
MBA / PGDM (Sales / Marketing / Power) preferred
Engineering degree preferred (Electrical / Mechanical / Energy)
8–12 years’ experience in Renewable Energy Sales / Business Development
Experience in bidding (SECI / State / C&I tenders) preferred
Strong experience in C&I Open Access sales (mandatory)
Proven track record of closing renewable energy deals
Pan India customer handling experience preferred
