We provide the analysis that enables public and private sector leaders to act with confidence when making strategic decisions.</p> <p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven sales professional to significantly grow our footprint and client base in India. The Business Development Manager will take a consultative, solution-oriented approach to primarily selling The Economist Pro digital platform and API to enterprise clients, while also supporting revenue growth across Economist Intelligence Corporate Network and advertising solutions as part of a broader commercial mandate.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own the full 360-degree sales cycle, from high-level prospecting and interest generation to successfully closing complex, enterprise-wide agreements.</li> <li>Proactively hunt and close net new logos within the assigned sales territory.</li> <li>Demonstrate strong sales and market acumen to develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies.</li> <li>Identify, build &amp; manage a robust pipeline of both self-sourced opportunities and inbound marketing leads.</li> <li>Prepare detailed sales forecasts, spearhead new growth initiatives and develop contingency plans to ensure success.</li> <li>Consistently meet activity KPIs and exceed demanding sales targets.</li> <li>Maintain accuracy and hygiene of all client and opportunity data within the internal CRM system.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Skills and Competencies</strong></p> <ul> <li>8+ years of proven new logo hunting sales experience in an enterprise B2B environment</li> <li>A track record of excellence in successfully winning new business contracts and driving revenue through a full sales cycle</li> <li>Demonstrated history of consistently exceeding sales quotas</li> <li>A growth mindset, taking full ownership for continuous professional development and self-improvement</li> <li>Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation and active listening skills</li> <li>A dynamic self-starter who is highly creative, solution-focused and can quickly adapt to changing market conditions.</li> <li>Ability to identify complex client challenges and collaboratively develop creative, actionable solutions.</li> <li>Skilled in simplifying and presenting complex ideas and products to senior executive audiences.</li> <li>Highly organized, setting clear priorities, and remaining flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li> <li>Experience with Salesforce and SalesLoft is desirable but not required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Attributes Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Intellectually curious</li> <li>Tenacious</li> <li>Ambitious</li> <li>Resilient</li> <li>Courageous&nbsp;</li> <li>Dedicated with strong work ethic</li> <li>Consistent and systematic in approach</li> <li>Action oriented</li> <li>Coachable</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: rgb(236, 240, 241);">#LI-Hybrid&nbsp;</span></p><div class="content-conclusion"><hr> <p><strong>Working Arrangements</strong></p> <p>The majority of our roles operate on a hybrid working pattern, with 3+ days office attendance required.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>AI usage for your application</strong></p> <p>We are an innovative organisation that encourages the use of technology.
