Job Summary
The Bar Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the bar and ensuring excellent guest service standards. The role includes team supervision, inventory management, beverage quality control, hygiene maintenance, and smooth coordination with restaurant operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, product knowledge, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily bar operations including opening and closing procedures.
Ensure high-quality beverage preparation and service standards for all guests.
Train and guide bartenders and bar staff on cocktails, beverages, service etiquette, and SOPs.
Monitor bar inventory and coordinate timely requisitions with the store or purchase team.
Conduct regular stock checks and minimize wastage, breakage, and pilferage.
Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained as per FSSAI and company guidelines.
Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure quick resolution.
Ensure proper billing, cash handling, and POS operations.
Maintain bar equipment, glassware, displays, and counters in proper condition.
Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager and Kitchen team for promotions, beverage pairings, and menu planning.
Maintain attractive bar presentation and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
Prepare shift schedules and manage staff performance during operations.
Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in bar operations with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and current beverage trends.
Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of POS systems and billing procedures.
Well-groomed personality with a customer-service mindset.
Flexible to work rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays.
