Role Overview
As Senior Manager –
Leads end-to-end Balance Sheet Substantiation activities, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations in line with policy and controllership standards. Accountable for governance, exception management, and control effectiveness while meeting SLA and performance metrics. Partners with GPO and cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, automation, and successful delivery of BSS projects and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all reconciliations are completed in line with policy and control requirements
Monitor and resolve exceptions, providing timely updates to management
Maintain a strong control environment and adherence to GAO Control Hub requirements
Deliver results in line with SLAs and Balanced Scorecard metrics
Identify risks and drive remediation of process gaps
Partner with IT, vendors, and cross-functional teams to enhance reconciliation processes
Support process re-engineering, automation, and transformation initiatives
Escalate risks proactively to avoid impact on delivery
Ensure completion of mandatory training
Drive successful execution of Balance Sheet Substantiation (BSS) projects and initiatives
Process Transformation & Change
Collaborate with GPO and Technology teams on automation and process improvements
Support implementation of accounting technology, new entity setups, and business restructurings
Qualifications & Experience
CA / CPA / MBA (Finance) with 10–12 years R2R experience
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS accounting
Experience with SOX, controls testing and audits
Global close and reporting experience
Skills required:
Advanced Excel and strong MS Office proficiency
Knowledge of Oracle Financials/ARCS (preferred)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High ownership, accountability, and stakeholder management skills
