Job Role: Software Engineer – Backend (SDE-3)
You should apply if you have:
Strong experience designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems
Proven ability to architect systems end-to-end, not just implement features
Deep expertise in Python (Django REST/FastAPI) and backend system design
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (designing event-driven architectures at scale)
Strong experience using Redis for caching, distributed locks, rate limiting, and performance tuning
Ability to debug and resolve complex production issues across services

Skills Required:
Backend & System Design Skills
Expert-level proficiency in Python
Deep experience with Django and/or FastAPI in production systems
Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture
Ability to design highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and low-latency systems
Strong grasp of system design concepts
Data & Infrastructure Skills
Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) including scaling strategies
Experience with NoSQL systems (MongoDB/DynamoDB) for high-scale use cases
Advanced usage of Redis (caching strategies, pub/sub, distributed coordination)
Deep experience with Apache Kafka (topic design, partitioning, consumer scaling, failure handling)
Strong familiarity with the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, Lambda, etc.)
Developer & DevOps Skills
Strong expertise in Git workflows and code quality practices
Experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes preferred)
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release strategies
Experience with observability (metrics, logging, tracing – Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
Experience with AI-assisted software development and code review workflows
Ability to leverage AI tools for faster onboarding, debugging, documentation, and engineering productivity
Understanding of best practices for integrating AI into day-to-day development while maintaining code quality and reliability
Ability to design backend infrastructure for AI-powered product experiences
What will you do?
1️⃣ Architect and Build Scalable Backend Systems
Design and own end-to-end backend architectures
Build highly scalable and maintainable microservices and APIs
Drive architectural decisions with long-term scalability in mind
Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and availability SLAs
2️⃣ Lead Event-Driven and Distributed Systems
Design event-driven architectures using Kafka at scale
Define topic structures, partitioning strategies, and data flow
Ensure reliability with retry mechanisms, dead-letter queues, and idempotency
Optimize systems for high throughput and low latency
3️⃣ Drive Performance Optimization
Design and implement advanced caching strategies using Redis
Solve performance bottlenecks using data access optimization and caching layers
Implement distributed locking and rate-limiting mechanisms
Continuously improve system latency and efficiency
4️⃣ Database Architecture and Scaling
Design and evolve database schemas for scale
Implement indexing, sharding, and query optimization strategies
Ensure high data consistency, availability, and durability
Drive decisions between SQL vs NoSQL based on use cases
5️⃣ Ensure System Reliability and Operational Excellence
Own production systems and ensure high availability and fault tolerance
Lead debugging of critical production incidents
Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability systems
Improve system resilience and disaster recovery strategies
6️⃣ Technical Leadership and Mentorship
Mentor SDE-1 and SDE-2 engineers
Lead design discussions and code reviews
Drive engineering best practices and standards
Contribute to hiring and technical evaluations
