About the Role
As a Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and building the core systems that power our platform. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop scalable backend services, implement efficient APIs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems. This is an individual contributor role with high ownership, where your work will directly influence product functionality, performance, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development & Systems Design
● Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.
● Develop and optimize RESTful APIs for internal and external use.
● Architect robust systems to handle large-scale data and high-throughput traffic. Collaboration & Execution
● Work closely with product, design, and frontend teams to define and implement new features.
● Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and solution architecture.
● Translate business and product requirements into engineering solutions.
Code Quality & Engineering Best Practices
● Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
● Implement thorough testing and monitoring for services.
● Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth, frequent deployments. Technical Ownership
● Take ownership of core backend modules such as:
○ Ad creative generation ○ Campaign cost analysis and breakdown ○ Internationalization and multi-region ad support
● Stay up to date with new technologies and evaluate them for integration into our stack.
Required Qualifications
● 3+ years of experience in backend development, preferably in a SaaS or startup environment.
● Strong programming skills in Golang or Python.
● Proficient in building and consuming RESTful APIs and optimizing SQL queries.
● Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including services like Glue, CloudWatch, or vector databases.
● Solid grasp of scalable architecture, system design, and distributed systems.
● Familiarity with unit testing, monitoring, logging, and CI/CD practices.
Good to Have
● Exposure to AI/ML technologies, especially LLMs, ControlNet, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
● Experience working with ad-tech platforms, particularly around creative automation or campaign performance.
● Prior experience in early-stage startups or fast-paced environments.
