The Waltz Health Cloud Engineer is responsible for supporting the creation and implementation of a technology framework and providing technical expertise in support of Waltz Health enterprise cloud computing services with a focus on the design and implementation of cloud and infrastructure services that run on MS/Azure cloud platforms. The Cloud Engineer reports into the VP Cloud and Infrastructure Services and will be responsible for ensuring that cloud technologies are effectively configured, implemented, and maintained as required to support business applications and services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud computing technologies supporting consumer services, retail, and/or healthcare. The position requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a group of high performing individuals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cloud Service Engineering
Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes
Contribute as a technical resource for the design and deployment of cloud-based technologies
Support the development and deployment of cloud service pipelines
Maintain awareness of cloud industry trends and emerging technologies
Assist in developing solutions architecture and evaluating architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including SaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services that are highly resilient and recoverable
Consultation
Support scope definition to help simplify application architectures and enterprise service maintenance while leveraging vendor supplied technologies
Ensure delivered solutions seamlessly support enterprise data management and networking services
Provide technical support in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including determination and provision of workaround solutions or escalation to application owners
Ensure delivered solutions are realized within committed timeframes; work in conjunction with project sponsors to manage scope and risk
Provide support and governance related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations
Support cloud computing services that align with the enterprise information security program
Technical Contribution
Contribute cloud expertise to support fellow team members across business and technology areas
Support business and product performance through effective cloud computing solutions
Vendor / Service Partner Management
Partner with application engineering teams to ensure application architectures effectively leverage cloud services
Collaborate with cloud service vendors to ensure cloud architectures maximize capabilities driving speed to market and reduced operating costs
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
4+ years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including enterprise cloud service architecture, network management, middleware, data management, or operations
Experience in 24x7 SaaS environments
Experience working within globally distributed engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
Experience with enterprise data and database management technologies
Strong understanding of network architectures and application development methodologies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
