An Automation Engineer III
is

esponsible for
designing, developing, and standardizing infrastructure automation solutions with a strong focus on
VMware-based environments
. This role will drive automation maturity by building reusable, scalable automation assets using
Ansible and Python
, enabling faster and reliable infrastructure provisioning and operations.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and standardize
automation frameworks and reusable assets using Ansible & Python
Build automation solutions for
VMware infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
Define best practices for
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
and configuration management
Automate
deployment, remediation, and operational tasks
across infrastructure environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (cloud, network, storage) to deliver end-to-end automation solutions
Core Technical Skills (Must Have)
Strong experience with
Ansible (playbooks, roles, collections, AWX/Automation Controller)
Proficiency in
Python scripting and automation development
Solid understanding of
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
principles
Experience with
Linux/Unix system administration
Familiarity with
AI-assisted development tools
(e.g., GitHub Copilot, coding agents) to improve productivity and code quality
Good to Have Skills
Exposure to
Apache Airflow
or similar workflow orchestration tools
Experience with
containerization
(Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
Hands-on experience with
VMware ecosystem

Education
High School Diploma or regional equivalent required
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in field related to role. At the manager’s discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute degree requirement
Experience
8+ years of experience in the field of role required
