1. Role Overview
The SCADA Lead will be responsible for leading the entire SCADA engineering, commissioning, monitoring, and maintenance setup for
solar projects located in Bharuch
, ensuring stable communication architecture, maximum system uptime, and accurate plant performance analytics. The role requires regular coordination with site teams, EPC partners, OEMs, and the corporate engineering office.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. SCADA Design & Engineering
Develop SCADA architecture for
utility‑scale solar plants in Bharuch
(10 MW to 500 MW).
Prepare SCADA design packages, including network diagrams, I/O lists, fiber layouts, and communication topologies.
Define specs for PLCs/RTUs, gateways, servers, switches, firewalls, and SCADA cabinets.
Select and manage communication protocols like
Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 104, OPC‑UA, DNP3
, etc.
B. Project Execution & Site Activities
Lead SCADA installation, testing, and commissioning at Bharuch solar site(s).
Perform FAT/SAT with contractors and OEMs.
Ensure integration with:
Central Inverters / String Inverters
SMBs / SCBs
Energy meters
WMS (Weather Monitoring Stations)
HT panels, switchgear, and transformers
Coordinate with on‑site electrical & automation teams to meet commissioning timelines.
C. Monitoring & O&M Support
Ensure 24×7 real‑time monitoring and
>99% SCADA uptime
.
Troubleshoot data gaps, alarms, communication interruptions, network failures.
Develop dashboards for performance analytics for corporate/O&M teams.
Train O&M staff at Bharuch site on SCADA operations and data retrieval.
D. IT, Server & Cybersecurity
Manage SCADA servers, data historian, backups, and cloud sync.
Maintain secure access (VPN, firewalls, restricted ports).
Ensure compliance with CEA guidelines for cybersecurity in power systems.
E. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Lead technical discussions with automation vendors, inverter OEMs, EPC contractors.
Evaluate SCADA proposals and negotiate cost‑effective solutions for Bharuch sites.
Maintain documentation:
As‑built drawings
SCADA architecture
Network diagrams
FAT/SAT protocols
SOPs
Maintenance logs
3. Qualifications & Experience
B.Tech/B.E. in
Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Control Systems
.
6–12+ years
of experience in SCADA systems for solar power plants (mandatory).
Strong exposure to:
PLC/RTU programming
Fiber optic networks
Industrial communication protocols
Solar plant equipment integration
Hands-on site commissioning experience is essential.
4. Required Technical Skills
SCADA Tools:
Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Schneider, Ignition, ABB
, etc.
Networking: L2/L3 switches, routers, fiber patching, VLANs, IP planning.
Cybersecurity protocols for power systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills for inverters, WMS, SCBs, and meters.
5. Soft Skills
Strong leadership for managing site teams and contractors.
Excellent coordination with HO, EPC, and O&M departments.
Problem-solving mindset with high accountability.
Ability to work in remote site conditions (Bharuch field environment).
Precise documentation & communication.
