ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a Delivery Owner who will act as a Associate Delivery Lead for Mako's Data Engineering Business unit. This is a high-ownership role: you will manage end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent Implementation Projects, handle client escalations, plan resources, and drive quality execution from day one. Working closely with the Account Owner, you will free up strategic bandwidth for client growth while owning the full delivery engine underneath.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. End-to-End Delivery Ownership
Own delivery across concurrent Data related projects
Ensure timelines, quality, and client expectations are consistently met
Maintain a live view of project health status, risks, blockers, and escalation paths
2. Escalation Management
Serve as the first point of contact for all delivery escalations
Join client calls and lead resolution for data mismatches, migration failures, and delivery delays
Provide structured, confident communication and clear resolution plans under pressure
3. Resource Planning and Allocation
Manage a team of 10 to 15 data engineers and analysts across projects
Allocate resources dynamically based on project priority and delivery risk
Plan cover for critical roles and manage leave conflicts without disrupting delivery continuity
4. Technical Oversight
Understand and oversee ETL pipelines, data transformation logic, and validation and reconciliation processes
Work closely with technical leads to resolve issues at the right level
Review and challenge technical solutions where required — ask the right questions, not just accept the first answer
5. Programme-Level Tracking and Reporting
Maintain a central delivery dashboard covering all active projects
Run daily and weekly review cycles with the team
Present status, risks, and delivery insights to leadership clearly and on time
6. Client Communication and Relationship Support
Act as the delivery face for Mako clients, particularly across US and UK time zones
Communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, balancing transparency with trust
Support the Account Owner in building long-term client relationships through consistent delivery
7. Process and Delivery Improvement
Introduce and embed structure across status reporting, escalation handling, and resource utilisation
Improve delivery predictability and reduce fire-fighting through proactive planning
Champion a culture of accountability and ownership within the migration team
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience
7 to 12 years in IT services, with at least 3 years focused on data migration or ETL projects
Proven track record managing multiple concurrent delivery streams
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, Qlik, or custom migration frameworks
Solid SQL skills and hands-on experience with data validation and reconciliation
Understanding of the full data migration lifecycle, from scoping and mapping through to go-live and post-migration sign-off
Ability to read logs, diagnose issues, and guide engineers to resolution without doing the work for them
Communication and Leadership
Strong client-facing communication — written and verbal — with experience handling customers
Comfortable in high-pressure situations and able to project calm and control
Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior clients and distributed technical teams
Mindset and Execution
Strong ownership orientation, you treat delivery problems as your problems
Structured thinker who brings order to ambiguity and builds processes that outlast the individual
Comfortable operating with autonomy, making decisions, and escalating only when genuinely needed
GOOD TO HAVE
Experience in SaaS implementations or migration projects within SaaS platforms
Prior exposure to global clients in the US or UK, particularly in enterprise or mid-market accounts
Experience managing or coordinating distributed or offshore teams
