Job Title: AVP – Payroll & HR Operations Location: BKC, Mumbai Department: Human Resources Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Analyst – Payroll & HR Operations to manage end-to-end payroll administration, statutory compliance, and retiral processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across payroll and HR operations. Key Responsibilities Payroll & HR Operations • Manage end-to-end payroll administration , including payroll inputs collation, submission to vendor, reconciliations, and salary disbursement. • Ensure timely processing of statutory payments, taxation, and payroll reporting from HR databases. • Handle quarterly/annual statutory filings and Form 16 issuance . • Respond to employee payroll queries via QRMS/AskHR , and analyze trends to build and enhance FAQs. Collaborate with the Finance team for payroll-related activities. • Prepare and submit Salary Journal Vouchers (JV) and resolve related queries. • Submit funding/payment requests (salary, benefits, statutory contributions, etc.). • Support HR provisioning activities and manage business queries on salary cost and budgeting variances. Compliance & Governance • Manage labour law compliance including S&E certification, CLRA compliance, and statutory filings. • Liaise with the Tax team for expatriate payroll, taxation, and related matters. • Support internal and external audits , ensuring documentation and compliance readiness. Retiral & Benefits Management • Oversee end-to-end retiral processes , including Provident Fund, Pension, and Gratuity. • Establish and monitor control mechanisms for vendor-managed retiral activities. • Manage trust-related matters , including audit closures. • Ensure timely gratuity remittance and compliance with regulations. Support actuarial valuation processes across retirals and employee benefits. • Provide regular updates to trustees on fund performance. Systems & Reporting • Develop and maintain HR dashboards and reports . • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Workday , including operational workflows, process management, and organizational structures. Key Skills & Competencies • Strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and HR operations • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities • Strong stakeholder management and vendor coordination skills • High attention to detail and accuracy • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Profile Required • 7–8 years of experience in payroll processing and HR operations • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with HR vendors and internal stakeholders Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities • Experience handling compliance and audits • Prior experience managing unions will be an added advantage Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is an equal opportunity employer.
