About Site:
Site Sayakha, a greenfield facility located in Sayakha, District Bharuch, Gujarat State, India, inaugurated in February 2024, is Perstorp’s latest state of the art production plant. This is the first major investment in India by Perstorp, and the site is spread out over approximately 28 acres of land. The plant produces Penta which has a vast range of application areas, being an essential building block for coatings, as well synthetic lubricants, and antioxidants. Our new plant solidifies and strengthens our long-term position and presence in the growth region of Asia. It also reinforces our ability to meet growing demand, particularly in Asian markets.

Reporting to:
Technical Head, Sayakha
The position shall report to Technical Head and work with peers dept including Engineering, Technical, Production, SCM, HSEQ and Procurement.
Main Function:
The purpose of this position is to deep dive and support for improvement to plant operation and maintenance functions. Position shall study and monitor plant performance, analyse operating process parameter, Conduct the Risk assessment at various level of process, Process Safety Elements
implementation, control and monitoring the effectiveness.
Role:
The role is responsible to
• Lead hazard and process safety management by monitoring plant performance, conducting risk assessments, and improving process safety practices.
• Implement and strengthen Process Safety Management (PSM) elements including HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, MOC, PSSR, SOPs, audits, and KAIZEN initiatives.
• Conduct process hazard analysis and ensure timely closure of recommendations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, safety teams, vendors, and external stakeholders to resolve process and operational issues.
• Monitor process alarms, interlocks, safety overrides, firefighting systems, and overall plant safety effectiveness.
• Investigate incidents, track RCDB process safety events, and implement lessons learned across operations.
• Develop training plans, skill matrices, coaching programs, and build internal process safety and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Support vendor assessment, technical evaluation, procurement specifications, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure legal, environmental, certification, and statutory compliance including inspections and permit renewals.
Required Knowledge base and experience:
• A Full Time Graduate Chemical Engineer from a Reputed Institution, with 2-year certification /post-graduation diploma in Process safety management/industrial safety management, certified NEBOSH-PSM, PGD in PSM from any institute.
• More than 7 years of experience in continuous process plant at Process Safety Engineer Position preferably in a chemical or refinery plant.
• Out of that more than >5 years’ experience in the Process Safety area, industrial safety.
• Strong proficiency in Dupont -PSM tools, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of field operations. SAP PM experience preferred.
• Proven experience in leading and motivating teams in a production environment. A personal style that instils a sense of responsibility amongst peers and direct reports.
