> Assistant Manager - Inventory Management
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Strategy & Planning
Define the overall inventory management strategy for all warehouses.
Establish stocking norms, safety stock levels, replenishment logic, MOQ/ROP frameworks.
Align inventory planning with sales forecast, promotions, seasonality, and new launches.
Drive inventory optimization to reduce working capital and slow/non-moving stock.
2. Multi-Warehouse Inwarding & Replenishment Leadership
Oversee all inbound operations: import containers, GRN posting, staging, QC, and put-away.
Create centralized replenishment plans for B2C, B2B, Marketplace, and Quick Commerce.
Allocate inventory across warehouses based on demand clusters and channel priorities.
Lead inter-warehouse stock transfers, allocation planning, and replenishment automation.
3. Warehouse Space Management & Capacity Planning
Monitor and plan storage capacity across all warehouse locations.
Implement space utilization dashboards and optimize put-away routes.
Lead planning for warehouse expansion, consolidation, or redesign when required.
4. Stock Accuracy Governance (Target: 99%+)
Establish strong SOPs for inventory transactions across all warehouses.
Review and approve all cycle count, monthly audit, and reconciliation processes.
Lead investigations on variances with RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective Actions).
Ensure complete traceability, ERP hygiene, and real-time visibility of stock.
5. ERP/WMS & Process Excellence
Own the accuracy of ERP/WMS inventory across locations.
Ensure 100% compliance of scanning, binning, FIFO/FEFO, and material handling processes.
Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce errors, improve speed, and automate reports.
6. Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate with Imports, Logistics, Marketplace Ops, Production, Finance, and Sales teams.
Monitor inbound delays, QC results, and stock availability for key channels.
Partner with Finance on monthly reconciliations, COGS, variance approvals, and audit closures.
Work with Demand Planning/Sales to ensure inventory readiness for peak periods.
7. Reporting, Analytics & Business Insights (Excel)
Build executive dashboards for stock health, ageing, accuracy, space utilization, and inbound SLAs.
Publish daily/weekly/monthly MIS for management.
Analyze trends for fast/slow-moving SKUs, channel-wise fill rate, and forecast accuracy.
Drive data-backed decision-making across the supply chain.
8. People Leadership & Team Management
Lead inventory executives, warehouse supervisors, and cycle count teams across locations.
Ensure training on SOPs, scanning operations, ERP posting, and QC/inbound standards.
Set KRAs/KPIs for the team and track performance regularly.
Build a culture of accountability, discipline, and process thinking across warehouses.
