JOB DESCRIPTION Section I: Basic Information on the Role Position Name Manager/Sr Mgr/AGM Mechanical Function   Line of Business BESS (R &D) Grade   Reporting to Functionally Administratively     Roles Reporting into No. of employees Role Description   -   Section II: Job Summary To lead and manage the Mechanical R&D function for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), with responsibility for innovation, design, prototyping, testing, and optimization of mechanical systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and safety of energy storage solutions. Section III: Do – Key Activities and responsibilities of the role Perspective Responsibility Job Responsibilities   Lead mechanical design and development of BESS enclosures, thermal management systems, mounting structures, and packaging solutions. Manage end-to-end mechanical development lifecycle – concept, CAD modelling, prototyping, validation, and release to manufacturing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Thermal, Software, Manufacturing) to ensure integrated system design. Oversee mechanical simulation and analysis activities (FEA, CFD, vibration, thermal analysis, etc.). Drive innovation in materials selection, light weighting, IP rating (dust/water ingress), thermal insulation, and fire safety compliance. Ensure designs meet relevant standards and certifications (e.g., UL, IEC, BIS). Manage relationships with vendors and third-party labs for prototyping and testing. Develop and mentor junior engineers within the Mechanical R&D team. Prepare technical documentation including design reports, BOMs, test plans, and validation summaries. Support cost optimization and DFM/DFA efforts with manufacturing and supply chain teams. Monitor emerging trends and technologies in energy storage and mechanical engineering. Job Description Design of Lithium ion systems must , CATIA /SOLID WORKS EXPERT,  Auto CAD  skills , Calculation of Floor loading / and combinations of series parallel for BESS systems, should be responsible for creating design to prototype development and ensure all mechanical and electrical system layouts must adhere the compliance and standards   Section IV: DELIVER – KEY OUTPUTS / RESULTS FROM THE ROLE Key Performance Indicators (KPI) What are the measurable indicators for the role? Measurable Deliverables   Candidate with experience in BESS, telecom structure, Cabinet and rack designs, Calculations of thermo dynamics . Minimum experience of 8 ~ 12 years in passive networks , BESS systems , Lithium ion Systems , power plants   Section V: DISPLAY – KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS In this section, please mention the qualification, technical skills and capabilities which are essential to execute the role. Over all Experience 10 - 14 years in electric engineering in Battery/Automative. Behavioral skills / competencies required for the role. E.g.
