About the Program
The Aspiring Teacher Program is a full-time, paid pathway for graduates who are passionate about building a career in education. Successfully run by The Akanksha Foundation for the past two years, the program is now entering its
third cohort
.
This year marks an exciting new chapter, as The Akanksha Foundation has partnered with iTeach Schools to expand opportunities for aspiring educators. Candidates selected for the program will be placed as Aspiring Teachers in either an Akanksha School or an iTeach School across Pune's Schools. The program is designed to help future educators build the mindset, classroom skills, and experience needed to transition into full-time teaching roles.
Key Responsibilities
Support remedial learning for students who need additional academic help
Take substitute classes when required
Assist lead teachers in lesson delivery and classroom management
Build positive relationships with students and create engaging learning environments
Participate in structured training sessions, workshops, and coaching
Support planning, execution, and classroom readiness activities
Track student progress and contribute to learning outcomes
Program Structure
Phase 1:
10-day residential training program (May–June 2026)
Phase 2:
School placement + year-long training support
Phase 3:
Differentiated coaching and development support throughout the year
Eligibility Criteria
Completed graduation by May 2026
Available to work full-time starting June 2026
Interested in teaching as a career
Open to being placed in an Akanksha School or iTeach School in Pune
