Job Title: AppDynamics Engineer (APM / Performance Monitoring)
Role Summary
We are looking for an AppDynamics Engineer to implement and manage application performance monitoring solutions. The role involves configuring AppDynamics, analyzing application performance, identifying bottlenecks, and enabling proactive monitoring to ensure high availability and optimal user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Implement, configure, and manage AppDynamics APM solutions across applications
Monitor application performance, user experience, and business transactions
Analyze performance issues and identify root causes (code, infrastructure, DB, network)
Create dashboards, alerts, and reports for real-time monitoring
Configure Business Transactions, Health Rules, and Policies in AppDynamics
Work closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to resolve performance issues
Support incident management and troubleshooting using AppDynamics insights
Integrate AppDynamics with CI/CD pipelines and other monitoring tools
Conduct performance trend analysis and capacity planning
Ensure monitoring coverage across microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in APM / Application Monitoring / Performance Engineering
Hands-on experience with AppDynamics (setup, configuration, administration)
Strong understanding of application architecture (monolith, microservices)
Experience in monitoring Java, .NET, or Node.js applications
Knowledge of web technologies (HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs)
Familiarity with performance metrics (response time, throughput, latency, error rates)
Experience with log analysis and monitoring tools
Understanding of Linux/Unix systems
Basic knowledge of databases and SQL
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with other monitoring tools (Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS)
Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
Understanding of DevOps and SRE practices
Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
Proactive mindset with focus on system reliability
Nice to Have
AppDynamics certification (Associate/Professional level)
Experience in setting up end-user monitoring (EUM) and business iQ
Knowledge of alert tuning and noise reduction strategies
