Job Description We are seeking a passionate and skilled Android Developer (3+ years) to join our dynamic team and help us build exceptional Android applications that enhance road safety and rider experience. You will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and integrating our mobile apps with our smart helmet technology. Technical Skills (3+ years experience) Strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK Good understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and IoT protocols Experience implementing Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates (Nordic DFU or similar) Hands-on experience with Firebase, MoEngage, and push notification systems Familiarity with Google Play Console, release management, and app distribution Knowledge of in-app purchases and subscription models (Google Play Billing, RevenueCat, etc.) Experience with Retrofit/OkHttp, JSON parsing, and Coroutines/Flow Understanding of modular project structures, Gradle, and dependency management Good grasp of Git workflows, Bitbucket pipelines, and Agile tools like Jira Appreciation for clean architecture, scalable code, and performance optimization Jetpack Compose experience is a plus but not mandatory Responsibilities Build and maintain Android applications that integrate with smart safety devices Develop adaptive, responsive UI components (Compose or XML-based) Integrate and manage BLE device communication and IoT protocols Implement and manage FOTA updates (Nordic DFU or equivalent) Manage push notifications with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and MoEngage Handle in-app purchases and subscriptions via Google Play Billing or RevenueCat Configure and maintain releases through Play Console and CI/CD pipelines Work with RESTful APIs using Retrofit, Coroutines, and Flow Debug, optimize, and resolve performance issues related to memory, battery, and CPU usage Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment Follow best practices: code reviews, testing (unit/UI), and CI/CD automation Stay updated on new Android APIs (Android 14/15) and bring innovation into the product Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 3+ years of professional Android development experience Proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, and modern Android frameworks Experience with BLE, FOTA, and location services Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills Experience with Firebase, analytics, and backend integration Familiarity with in-app purchase flows and Play Store distribution Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery Soft Skills Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical, scalable solutions. Excellent communication skills for working across disciplines. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take ownership of outcomes.
