About the position -
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Payroll Accounting Analyst II
to join our Global Capability Center in Gujarat. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliation and reporting of payroll related transactions. This role supports the RTR function by managing payroll accounting processes, performing balance sheet reconciliations, resolving variances and ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial policies. The role also acts as a key liaison between payroll operations, HR and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Accounting and reconciliations
Review payroll related journal entries and reconciliations ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Ensure payroll transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting policies and timelines.
Investigate and resolve aged balances
Ensure accurate allocation of payroll costs by entity and cost center
Support month close activities and deliverables
Assist in year-end activities including bonus accrual true ups and audit support
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions
Financial Controls and Compliance
Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
Support internal and external audit processes, including documentation and query resolution.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve payroll accounting processes and controls.
Drive automation or standardization initiatives where possible.
Contribute to documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
Provide guidance and support to team on complex reconciliations or accounting topics.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience
4-7 years of experience in payroll accounting, RTR or financial accounting.
Experience in the FMCG industry is a plus
Prior experience in a GCC or shared services environment is beneficial
Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Stakeholder management and communication skills
Continuous improvement mindset
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, HFM, Blackline or similar)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Exposure to automation tool, data analytics or process improvement initiatives is an advantage
