AI Trainer – Empowering the Next Generation
Transform Lives Through Technology
Who We're Looking For
Are you passionate about artificial intelligence AND passionate about creating opportunities for young people who deserve a shot at the digital economy? We're seeking an AI Trainer who can bridge two worlds: cutting-edge technology and the lived experiences of youth who've faced systemic barriers.
This isn't your typical corporate training role. You'll be working with ambitious 18-25-year-olds who are hungry to learn but may have limited access to technology education. Your mission? Turn curiosity into capability, and capability into careers.
What You'll Actually Do
Be a Guide, Not Just a Teacher
Design and deliver hands-on AI training programs that make complex concepts click for learners at all levels
Teach practical AI skills: prompt engineering, using AI tools for real-world tasks, understanding machine learning basics, and ethical AI use
Create a learning environment where "I don't get it" is celebrated as the start of understanding, not a sign of failure
Make AI Accessible and Relevant
Break down AI jargon into plain language that connects to participants' daily lives and career aspirations
Develop projects that matter: helping local businesses, solving community problems, building portfolio pieces that open doors
Show how AI skills translate to actual job opportunities in content creation, customer service, data analysis, and beyond
Mentor and Motivate
Be the person who sees potential when others see obstacles
Provide one-on-one support for participants who need extra help or encouragement
Connect training to real career pathways and help participants envision their futures in tech
Stay Current, Stay Curious
Keep your finger on the pulse of AI tools and trends so you're always teaching what's relevant
Adapt your teaching methods based on what's working and what's not
Collaborate with industry partners to create internship and job placement opportunities
What You Bring
Must-Haves:
Strong working knowledge of AI tools and applications (ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, AI coding assistants, etc.)
Genuine belief that everyone can learn technology, regardless of their starting point
2+ years of experience in training, teaching, mentoring, or community education
Ability to explain technical concepts in multiple ways until they land
Cultural competency and understanding of barriers faced by underserved communities
Bonus Points:
Experience working with youth, particularly from underrepresented backgrounds
Background in social work, community organising, or youth development
Portfolio of creative training materials or curriculum design
Lived experience overcoming educational or economic barriers
Multilingual abilities
What Makes This Role Different
This isn't about lecturing from slides. You'll be rolling up your sleeves, troubleshooting alongside participants when code doesn't work, celebrating small wins, and occasionally convincing a skeptical 19-year-old that yes, they absolutely can master this.
You'll see lightbulb moments. You'll write recommendation letters. You'll get texts months later saying "I got the job!" You'll be tired some days and inspired most days.
The Impact You'll Make
Your participants aren't just learning AI—they're building economic mobility. Studies show that tech skills training can increase earning potential by 30-50% for young adults from underserved communities. You're not just teaching prompts and algorithms; you're teaching people how to open doors that were previously closed.
What We Offer
Competitive salary commensurate with experience
Professional development budget to keep your AI skills sharp
Flexible schedule that respects the realities of working with young adults
A team that actually values impact over metrics (though we track both)
The satisfaction of knowing your work matters deeply and measurably
Ready to Apply?
We're especially interested in candidates who bring diverse perspectives and lived experiences to this role. If you don't check every box but your gut says you'd be great at this, apply anyway.
Our Commitment:
We believe talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not. We're building a team that reflects the communities we serve. All qualified applicants will receive consideration regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability status.
