Job Summary
Skylark Drones is looking for AI Engineers to work within the Drone Mission Operations team and build intelligent systems that improve how large-scale drone missions are planned, executed, and optimized. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy applying AI to operational data, real-world constraints, and continuously running systems.
You will work closely with DMO, platform, and product teams to develop AI-driven solutions across computer vision, automation, and decision-support systems. The focus is on improving operational efficiency, data quality, and mission reliability at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Build and deploy AI models to support drone mission planning, execution, and optimization
Work with large-scale image, video, and sensor data generated from drone missions
Develop computer vision models for quality checks, anomaly detection, and operational insights
Build intelligent automation to improve mission workflows and reduce manual intervention
Collaborate with operations teams to translate on-ground challenges into AI-driven solutions
Design and maintain end-to-end AI pipelines including data ingestion, training, and deployment
Continuously monitor and improve model performance in production environments
Document models, assumptions, and operational impacts clearly
Mandatory Skills and Qualifications
Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning
Hands-on experience working with image or video data
Experience building and deploying AI models or automation systems
Strong problem-solving skills and system-level thinking
Proficiency in Python and common AI and ML frameworks
Preferred Attributes
Experience with computer vision techniques and architectures
Exposure to real-world, noisy operational data
Experience deploying AI models in production environments
Comfort working closely with non-technical operations teams
