Job Description Your Team The Technology stability team is a dedicated group focused on ensuring robust, reliable and scalable technological solutions for Invesco. The team specialized in building and maintain platforms that minimize downtime, enhance user experience, and ensure seamless integration across systems.   Your Role:   As an Enterprise Monitoring Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain monitoring solutions that ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of our enterprise systems. You will work with tools such as Splunk and SolarWinds to build robust monitoring frameworks, optimize alerting, and drive proactive incident detection. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to enhance visibility across infrastructure and applications, streamline operational workflows, and continuously improve monitoring capabilities through automation, analytics, and emerging technologies.    You will be responsible for :   Monitoring and Analysis: Utilize Splunk and SolarWinds to monitor system performance, identify issues, and using BigPanda to provide actionable insights. Request Enhancements: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand monitoring requirements and implement enhancements to improve system visibility and functionality. Incident Management: Respond to and resolve monitoring alerts, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Reporting: Generate and distribute regular reports on system health, performance metrics, and incident resolution. Automation: Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline monitoring processes and reduce manual intervention. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of monitoring configurations, processes, and procedures. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate monitoring solutions and support enterprise-wide initiatives. When advised, act as the lead coordinator/designer/implementer for all Enterprise Monitoring aspects of assigned project activity. Ensure the Enterprise Monitoring portfolio remains current.  Highlight areas requiring refresh albeit from a hardware or software perspective. Provide new and maintain existing technical Enterprise monitoring diagrams, documentation and associated system processes pertaining to the configuration of the entire architecture, in line with Company and departmental standards Provide the necessary escalation support to team Drive the enterprise monitoring operational efficiency and availability initiatives Act as a mentor for the more junior members of the team, offering guidance, coaching and support. The Experience You Bring:   Work Experience / Knowledge:  5+ years of experience with Splunk/Solarwinds in an enterprise environment. Knowlegde/Hands On in BigPanda will be an added advantage. Technical Skills:  Strong understanding of monitoring principles, network protocols, and system administration. Problem-Solving:  Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Communication:  Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Team Player:  Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Experience in developing complex Splunk queries and dashboards. Splunk Expertise:  Deep understanding of Splunk architecture, including indexers, search heads, forwarders, and deployment servers. Data Ingestion:  Experience with data onboarding, parsing, and normalization. Dashboard Creation:  Ability to create and customize Splunk dashboards, reports, and alerts. Knowledge of IT Infrastructure:  Familiarity with network protocols, system administration, and security practices. Expertise in the administration, support, and operation of the Orion SolarWinds platform including Network Performance Monitor, Network Configuration Manager, Server & Application Monitor, NetFlow Traffic Analyzer and IP Address Manager Expertise in the use of network management protocols (e.g. SNMP, SNMP Traps, Syslog, ICMP, NetFlow,etc.) Through understanding of Orion High Availability architecture and implementation knowledge Should be available for support during the SolarWinds/Splunk patching activities and make sure that the services are up and running for business post patching Scripting knowledge (Powershell, WMI, VB & Shell & etc) SolarWinds Software implementation knowledge including the SQL database query handling for reporting Must possess an up-to-date understanding of all Infrastructure technologies and a good technical knowledge of Wintel Services with a clear focus on Enterprise monitoring disciplines. Good to have certification: Splunk Certified Developer or SCP (Solarwinds Certified Professional)   Inter-personal skills / Other attributes required:       Strong problem-solving capabilities with an analytical, methodical approach Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including impressive email communication abilities. Can articulate complex technical issues in a manner understandable to non-technical individuals. Adaptable to working in a global, multicultural environment.
